If travelling from EAST of Oliver and want to avoid coming down Anarchist Mountain, which is very steep and winding then having to drive through Osoyoos and north up to Oliver, the following directions will take you on a well used gravel road. It will cut off about 45kms off your journey but due to slower driving speed, it won't get you here much sooner. Many guests that have taken this route prefer it compared to going via the main highways:

   1.     After leaving Rock Creek on Hwy 3, turn right onto
Canyon Rd, immediately after crossing the Rock
Creek Canyon bridge. Then turn left onto Baldy
Rd. ** Do NOT take Alden Road if your GPS
           suggests it
.**
   2.     Stay on Baldy Rd until you see signs to turn left to
           Oliver.
   3.     You will now be on Mckinney Rd. Stay on Mckinney
Rd. Hideaway is the 2nd driveway on the right
after you are back on pavement.

*** If traveling from the Hope Princeton Hwy. It is a better drive when hauling horses to go via Osoyoos (Hwy 3) at Keremeos than to go via Hwy 3A  towards Penticton. It is about 6 kms longer, but gentler grades on hills and not as winding. ***
